When and where is the event?

The event will be held October 30, 2022, from 1p to 5p rain or shine inside the Ballroom of AARC at 8401 Cameron Rd, Austin TX 78754, and (as weather permits) family and kids-friendly games outside on the lawn.

Where and how much is parking?

Parking is free in the AARC lot and in the overflow lot at 1520 Rutherford Lane Campus.
Note: Parking on-site in the AARC parking lot is limited and will be reserved for staff and volunteers and patrons with mobility limitations.
Plenty of free parking is a available nearby at 1520 Rutherford Lane Campus. The parking lot is at the corner of Rutherford Lane and Cameron Road just before AARC. Park in the lot, and the AARC is a short walk north via the sidewalk.

How much is admission?

Tickets are $7 for children ages 4+ and $3 for adults. Children 3 and under are free with purchase of adult entry. Tickets include live entertainment, arts and crafts activities, kid-friendly games, and contest entries.
Raffle tickets will be sold separately onsite at $1 each. Purchase as many raffle tickets as you like. One raffle ticket equals one raffle entry. Proceeds will support kids and family arts programs by Artly World Nonprofit.

How do I enter the contests?

Tickets include contest entry. Contest participation is optional.
Costume Contest:
The costume contest is limited to children ages 4 to 12 years and will be held onsite at the event. Contestants should wear their costume to the event and gather at the scheduled time for preliminary judging (tentatively 3:30p). A winner will be selected and announced onsite for each of two age groups: (1) ages 4 to 7 and (2) ages 8 to 12.
Carved Pumpkin Contest:
The carved pumpkin contest is open to all ages but limited to one entry per ticket. Adults may assist with child entries, and we encourage making this a fun family activity prior to the event! Contestants should prepare (i.e. carve) their pumpkin prior to the event and bring their already carved pumpkin to display at the bash. In-person crowd voting will occur onsite between 2p and 5p. Contestants should take their carved pumpkins when they depart (any pumpkins left behind will be discarded).
The winning pumpkin will be announced via social media after the conclusion of the event. Please ensure you are following us on social media for the announcement via www.facebook.com/kidshalloweenbash and www.instagram.com/kidshalloweenbash.

 

What are the prizes?

Costume Contest: Prizes include gift certificates (valued between $10 and $20) to some of Austin’s family-favorite eateries and local businesses. Prizes will be awarded for each age group.
Carved Pumpkin Contest: Prizes include $50 cash for one Grand Prize winner and $25 cash for two Honorable Mentions.

 

How do I enter the raffle?

Raffle tickets may be purchased online beginning October 17 or onsite during the event for $1 each. Purchase as many raffle tickets as you like. You do not need to be present at the event to win prizes. Prizes are not guaranteed, and odds of winning are dependent on the number of entries.
All raffle proceeds will benefit Artly World Nonprofit arts and culture programs for kids, families, and underserved communities in the Austin area. Follow @kidshalloweenbash on social media for announcements and updates about the raffle and raffle prizes.

 

What are your health-related safety precautions and policies?

All visitors are encouraged to practice social distancing and sanitize their hands often. Hand sanitizing stations will be available, and on-ground staff will clean high-touch areas frequently throughout the event. Masks are encouraged as appropriate, but not required.
Ticket holders who feel ill should stay home. Visitors exhibiting symptoms of illness will not be allowed to enter the event. No refunds will be given on account of illness.

Do you offer refunds?

All ticket sales are final. We will not offer refunds. If you wish to transfer your tickets to another party, please get in touch with the event organizers at [email protected].

Do you offer discounts on tickets?

Is the event accessible?

Yes, the AARC is an accessibility-friendly venue with designated parking and accessible ramps, entrances, walkways, and restrooms.

Do you allow pets?

No, pets are not allowed inside the AARC venue. Certified service animals that are trained to assist individuals are allowed with proper paperwork and vest.

Can I bring a stroller?

Yes. And the venue has accessible ramps, entries, and walkways to make it easy to move strollers around the event.

Who is the event benefiting?

Proceeds from this event and the onsite raffle will benefit Artly World Nonprofit, a nonprofit that provides free arts and culture programs to kids, families, and underserved communities in the Austin area.
